thick and stupid
with lies and hate
It hovers over us
bursting for breath
with the greed
of the dead
It threatens to rain
deceit
onto us
It threatens to reign
havoc
over us
This nattering accumulation
has many faces
Nameless jackals
besmirched with the same
smell of malignant
and covetous blather
Each, chain-linked
to the other in a
blood-lust huddle
Licking loose lips
they wait for me to bleed
Wait inside treacherous
tears of doubt
ready to harvest my heart
feed it to their young
I am frayed, bent
betrayed by hate and
my bleeding doubt
Please help me
win me over
So I can send these
graceless jackals
skyward back into their
cumulous hell
So I may live
and love peace
